Minecraft Education: How to Fix Code Builder Not Starting or Always Loading

If Code Builder is not working properly, the issue may be with the cache created and used by Code Builder. This article provides information on how to clear the cache and get Code Builder working again.

Able to open Code Builder, follow the steps to clear the cache within Code Builder. Unable to open Code Builder, follow the steps below to clear the cache from system files (PC only).

1. Clear the Cache in Code Builder

Follow these steps to clear the cache within Code Builder:

  • From the code interface, select “More” ().
  • Select “Reset”.

2. Clear the Cache from System Files (PC Only)

Follow these steps to access the AppData folder and clear the cache from system files on a Windows PC. Note: The AppData folder is hidden by default. You may need to enable “View hidden files and folders”.

  • Close Minecraft Education.
  • Open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp. Note: USERNAME refers to the user account used to log into the device, not the Minecraft Education login account.
  • Find the Minecraft folder.
  • Rename or delete minecraftpe.
  • Restart Minecraft Education. If Code Builder starts, no further action is needed.
  • If Code Builder still does not start, contact the support team by submitting a request.
